Five Plus Size Halloween Outfits that Aren’t Costumes

I get it.. you love Halloween, but don’t feel like wearing a costume this year. Maybe you don’t want to put in the effort of assembling it, or you just want to be yourself instead. I have compiled a list of five of my favorite plus size Halloween outfits that aren’t costumes!

None of these are affiliate links. They’re just things I came across on the internet and liked!

  1. Halloween Masks Skater Dress from Sourpuss Clothing

I LOVE all things vintage Halloween, especially these vintage Halloween masks! Ah, I remember a time when we used to cover our kids’ faces with molded plastic with quarter-sized visibility, then tell them to run through the neighborhood. Anyway, this super cute skater dressΒ from Sourpuss Clothing is just darling and features classic skull, witch, and cat masks.

They carry a matching bowler style purse, but I would pair it with this super spooky Kreepsville 666 skull handbag because it’s reminiscent of those old molded masks. Also IT GLOWS IN THE DARK.

I have never ordered anything from Sourpuss; I didn’t even know that they carry plus sizes! Sourpuss’s size chart is a little sketchy. I don’t see anything on their site past a 4x; there is one dress that comes in that size. I would need a 3x in this dress, and I wear about a size 18 on top. I don’t know on what planet a 3x equals a women’s size 18. Long story short, this brand does carry plus sizes but isn’t very size inclusive.

2.Β Halloween Net Bat Vintage Plus Size Dress from Rosegal

I’ve never ordered anything from Rosegal either, but this darling bat & spiderweb dress is making me consider it! It’s like a mixture of Wednesday Adams’s and Marilyn Munster’s styles. This would be so easy to wear with basics from your wardrobe; I’d pair it with tights or stockings, some black Mary Jane wedges, and a vintage-inspired hairdo. It’s perfect for a Halloween party or just handing out candy as a spooky hostess.

3. Monster Portraits Dress by SillyOldSeaDog

This dress is so unique! I love the fabric; it’s 100% cotton and features portraits of all kinds of scary Halloween monsters in frames: ghosts, vampires, witches, and even Mr. & Mrs. Frankenstein! It has a classic vintage shape that’s easy to wear. It can even be made with a petticoat! You can find it on Etsy by makerΒ SillyOldSeaDog.

4. Skeleton Stockard Suspender Skirt & Ghoul Gang Tee by Unique Vintage

Teenage goth Heather would shriek if she saw this! Although I don’t own any yet, a pinafore dress has been on my wishlist for a while. This one from Unique Vintage features the cutest skeleton arms on the suspenders! I would pair it with their super cute Ghoul Gang t-shirt to keep it casual.

5. Black Cat A-Line Skirt & Paw Reading Tank from Modcloth

Modcloth is one of my favorite online retailers when it comes to plus size clothing! I can always find something unique in my size on their site. I love this black cat skirt because it can be dressed up or down. After Halloween this can be a regular staple of your wardrobe. I would pair it with their cat witch paw reading tank top to make it a little more casual. I love all of my t-shirts from Modcloth. They tend to be a little long which I appreciate because then I can wear them with leggings!
