In late September I came across this cute, witchy dress made by artist Brett Manning. I saw it on Brett’s Instagram and knew it would fit my style perfectly! This was a limited time pre-order and was purchased through Brett’s Etsy.
The print features all kinds of witchy imagery: goats, rabbits, crystals, mushrooms, tarot suits, potions, leaves of all sorts, etc.
I was exceptionally excited about this garment because the artist chose to have them made in sizes up to 4X. One of my major complaints with independent designers is that they tend to overlook plus sizes. I don’t want to have to settle on wearing a boxy men’s t-shirt just so I can find something unique that fits me! It’s exasperating because I love to support independent designers!
I ended up getting an XL in this dress. I wear about a 44D on top, so I should’ve gotten a 2X. It is still comfortable, it just pulls a little across the chest. The skirt of this dress is very open and flowy; my hips are 56″ and the XL gives me PLENTY of room.
Fortunately it arrived just before Halloween so I also got to wear it while I handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. I wore it with a witch hat from Spirit Halloween and my comfy ol’ Toms. A witch going as a witch for Halloween, how innovating.
In October when we were at the Lodge at Woodloch for my birthday, my sweetie also surprised me with a woven blanket from Brett Manning! It features the same print as the dress but in black on ivory. It is very cozy and accents my spooky living room perfectly!
