One Shirt, Three Ways

I came across this cute yellow plaid shirt from Ava & Viv at my local Target last week. I was looking for shirts for this weird east coast late fall weather; is it 20 degrees and snowing or 60 degrees and sunny? This was a good choice that suited all of my needs. I like the color; it’s yellow, which I don’t typically wear, but sort of a mustard-y gold. It’s more of a camp shirt, which I prefer instead of a flannel because it’s less steamy when combined with other layers. It also has a second row of sneaky buttons so there’s no gap at the front of the shirt! It’s so nice to be able to wear a button down shirt and not worry that it’s gaping at the chest.

Here’s how I styled it!

I’ve tucked it into one of my favorite skirts for the season, this burnt orange skirt that I got from Forever 21 earlier this fall. Unfortunately it isn’t on their site anymore. I’m also wearing my new light gray wrap cardigan, also from Ava and Viv at Target. This sweater is so warm and cozy! I love that the sleeves are wrist length, so it doesn’t feel like a wizard cloak. My boots are a few years old and from Torrid, and my tights are from Lane Bryant last year.

Here I’ve layered the shirt under my long sleeve Carnivorous Plants tee from Fennec Design. I have a bunch of shirts from Fennec Design but this is one of my favorites. I’m wearing my boots from before, and some ponte stretch leggings from Torrid that I got on clearance over the summer.

Here I’m wearing the camp shirt with the wrap cardigan again, but with my black stiletto jeggings from Torrid and black and rose gold Nikes. The top says, “Yes you can borrow the minivan,” but the bottom says, “don’t smoke the joint in the glove box.”

Which outfit is your favorite? How would you wear this shirt? Let me know in the comments!
