We are well into January but I wanted to show off the Harry Styles Christmas ornaments I made this past holiday season.
It all started when I got an order for a Harry Styles rolling tray. The request was for a clear tray with this particular photo of Harry Styles, with marijuana leaves floating around him, and splashes of color. This project was right up my alley!
Here’s what I came up with:
I printed a full page of Harry photos just in case I needed extras. The tray was perfect on the first try. I was left with a handful of tiny Harry photos at my disposal. My Instagram post about the rolling tray got a lot of positive feedback so I decided to make ornaments, too!
LISTEN. I still cannot tell you the name of one Harry Styles song. I’m sorry if this makes me a poser to Harry fans. I made some other funny Christmas pun ornaments and had the idea to do the same with Harry’s name. A couple of my favorite ornaments I made this year: Have Yourself a Frenchie Little Christmas and Merry Weedsmas.
I made a few different styles of the Harry ornament. Only two were gold. The rest were some shade of pink. I mixed the resin for 2 or 3 ornaments at a time. Some batches ended up lighter or darker, and I experimented with a few different kinds of glitter.
The photos were printed at home with photo paper. I used self-laminating sheets to preserve the photos in the resin. I cut the lettering and snowflakes on my Cricut Maker.
This was my top selling listing on Etsy this year! For a while I was selling them through Instagram as quickly as I could make them.
I am sold out of both the ornaments and rolling trays for now but I have plans to make more in the future. I do have two coasters of the same design without the vinyl, listed here and here. If you’d like to order a custom resin rolling tray or ornament, get in touch or message me on Etsy!
Here’s a list of supplies I used:
- 3 Cavity Silicone Disk Molds (I purchased two of these so I could make them faster!)
- Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast
- Marijuana Leaf Decorative Scrapbook Reflective Stickers
- Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets
- Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Ink (mixtures of Watermelon & Shell Pink)
- White Adhesive Vinyl
- Opal Holographic Vinyl Sheets (I used blue and pink)
