Grrrr-owl! This skirt was SCREAMING my name as I perused Hell Bunny’s site a couple of months ago.

Hell Bunny has been a staple in the retro fashion community since 2003. They started making plus sizes in 2011. They are a UK brand so their garments run smaller than US sizes. I find that I can only wear their skirts and sleeveless dresses. Anything with a sleeve is too small in the arm. I’ve tried blouses, tees, and sleeved dresses and they’re unwearable because they’re too snug.
I sent an email to their customer service with my complaints about the sizing. I was surprised when I received a response in less than a day! They informed that Hell Bunny is considering extending its sizes, and that some of the newer plus size garments with sleeves have elastic in them to make them stretchier.

I knew this skirt was going to be perfect for me. It is pleated and really accentuates my hips, which I love! The fabric is flowy but structured. It is very full and would look great with a petticoat if that’s your thing. I love the pattern; leopard is a neutral in my world.
I’m wearing it with my trusty black t-shirt from Old Navy. Sometimes I like to wear something machine washable to dinner so I’m not worried about spilling. My necklace is a vintage cloisonne unicorn pendant I picked up at a flea market last summer. It is for the permanent collection but there’s a really cute upcycled version listed on Etsy right now.
